Introductions
My name is Dylan. I would like to consider myself more of a soul than a name, but as far as introductions go, I'm Dylan Shane Mayor. My name stands for son of the sea, I view life like water the way it ebbs and flows. I look to the world around me for the inspiration I crave, but often find the answers inside of me. Beyond my name, the question "Who am I?' can be answered by explaining my values. My eyes tell stories, my hands shape what the earth, universe, or god has provided, and my voice provides melodies which attempt at explaining the deep rooted feelings within me.
Love is my inspiration, everything would be non-existent without love. Love is everything.
We've all lost something but we wouldn't feel the pain of loss if love didn't explain to us there was something to lose. We wouldn't be able to grasp the joy of the world around us if love was not intertwined with the soil of all things that make us smile. This world runs on love. Too often does the love for material drive people more than love for people.
When I find myself caught in that I step back into where we all belong, nature. I intend to rediscover my love for this world by pouring my heart out in every piece of art possible. Song, photo, epoxy, acrylic, or wood, this world is mine to shape. I express myself in ways many don't understand, my outlets are things people question me for. The whole "what do you really want to do with your life" creeps into my head whether that seed of thought is planted by others or I do it to myself.
This is what I want to do. Create, experience, breathe, love, and my main driving factor is to heal. I speak, sing, carve, pour, and swing for the fences with the intent that someone, somewhere will relate to that pain that I express enough to say, "what can I do about it?".
I am destined to provoke change. I am destined to show people their true way of living, through love. I encourage you not only to love and live your art, but to love yourself and truly, I emphasize, truly live through your own shoes, breathe through your own nose, see through your own eyes, think through your own brain, and embrace through your own heart.
Life is too beautiful to concern yourself with what you were taught, life is here to show you love.
I am love.
Thank you,
Dylan
